AMEN to this.
I got an email this morning. It’s title was “Disturbing”. I opened it to find that it was about PepsiCo sponsoring the New York City Gay Pride Parade. It was from the American Family Association. It was calling for a boycott of Pepsi products because they support gay rights. So let me get this straight:
You’re boycotting someone who is pushing for equality of all people, regardless of sexual preference? You are no better than the people putting burning crosses in peoples yards 40 years ago.
Homosexuality is a lifestyle choice that doesn’t effect anyone but themselves. Someone said in that email: “there is loving them but hating the sin, but this is outrageous.”
How is it outrageous? Are we still so narrow-minded that we feel threatened by anything different? And it’s pretty obvious who the people are behind this. It’s older citizens and devout Christians. This is my biggest problem with the church. If they were to realize that alot of other companies were donating money to things that the Church doesn’t approve of, then they probably wouldn’t be buying much.
I hope that my readers aren’t as close minded and bigoted as the people who sent me that.
Peace.
